A brand-new center is being built in Utrecht specifically for handling returns for a major supermarket chain in the Netherlands. This means that around 300 trucks will arrive daily with various goods. As a supervisor, you ensure that employees at the location can do their jobs as effectively as possible. This means you are responsible for an optimal operation on the floor and ensuring that all necessary resources are available. Additionally, you will constantly seek improvements to resolve bottlenecks. Specifically, your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Managing long-term planning for personnel and materials, consulting with external parties as needed;
• Monitoring and analyzing logistics processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations;
• Handling urgent tasks and adjusting work processes in unusual circumstances;
• Reporting to the site manager and covering for them in their absence;
• Administrative tasks, such as time tracking and reporting to stakeholders.

Wat vragen wij

To perform well in this role, it’s essential that you always prioritize the quality of the process. This means not only leading the process but also motivating your team to minimize errors. You also enjoy exploring ways to make improvements and figuring out how to implement them. If you can check off the following list, we’d love to hear from you:

• At least two years of experience in a similar leadership role in a logistics environment;
• Proficiency with computers and Excel;
• Availability for 2-shift work and weekends;
• Good command of Dutch and English;
• Ambition to develop further within Kuehne+Nagel.
